Thank you Fishrdan!!
I was so sure that I was right...until I looked at the cover this morning.
Plug gap .035
point gap .022

I will re-gap!

Set points, Set timing, adjusted air/fuel mix @ carb, re-gaped plugs, Adjusted idle (all not necessarily in that order...

Engine never ran better on the muffs!!

Can't wait to get it in the water.

Tim said something about putting octane booster in???
I always use "real gas" (not ethenol), but I believe it's only regular unleaded.

Should I use octane booster or not?

Thanks guys
Darrin

you didnt mention in your last post that you set the dwell. That was probably what set everything straight. I picked up a used dwell/rpm meter on fleabay for next to nothing because most autos dont use them anymore. Best marine investment i made since i have points. I too thought i was so good i could set points with out one. Like don said. You can come close but the pros still check it.

A dwell meter tells you what the coil "sees" which is way more relevant than what you see :)

I didn't mention dwell because I didn't set it with a dwell meter (I know the comments this will generate and feel ashamed for posting!!).
I will get a dwell/RPM meter before next season though so I can do the job correctly.

I think i only paid 20 bucks on flea bay for my antique dwell meter. Like i stated above, plenty of them around since most autos dont use them anymore. Its not a big investment.
