I'm thinking of looking for a Merc 3.9 to put on my fishing boat.. Are these good motors???

Oh Well I'm looking for an older Single out of the 60's or 70's...

JB If your Talking about a Johnson, I have an older 3(1957) and 5.5hp (1961) and I will have to Say The Mercs run best...

For you, perhaps, Bunky.<br /><br />It wasn't my intent to say the JohnnyRudes are better, they are just much more popular.<br /><br />All of my small JohnnyRude twins were a smooth as a Singer and reliable as a crowbar. The only Merc I ever had was faster and noisier.<br /><br />Curious about why you asked if you had an answer ready.
