Merc 50 - torn exhaust tube seal

Hi. Just pulled the gear housing on my 66 Merc 50 and noticed I only have half of the Exhaust Tube Seal.

I've ordered the part and was wondering what problems I might have if I run it until the part arrives?

i personally don't think it would be too bad. exhaust would still go down through the prop. but i'd wait just for the fact of dropping the lower unit again to replace it. shouldn't take that long to get.
