Merc 50 WOT ??

Hi. Currently on my 82 Merc 50 I'm running a 14" prop at 5200.

Operating range is 5000-5500.

I've read that it's better for some motors to be nearer the upper range.

Should I go down to my 13" to get the rev's up?

It's not absolutely necesscary but it will be easier on the motor througout all RPM's. 2 strokes hate being loaded so anything you can do will prolong it's life.

I'll try the smaller prop.
