Merc 50 Year/SN

Here's another tricky one for you guys. I have a 50 HP Merc that sits beside my shop because it's pull start and I'm too lazy to have that on a boat. But now that my other 50 seems to be out of the picture for a while I might have to break down and use it. But I need a water pump kit for it and I don't even know which decade it's from let alone the year. The serial # is 7052171, but guess what, it's Canadian, so I can't find the number on any of the sites I use.<br />Eric

Close but not quite.. It is a blue stripe but it has a few horizontal stripes that don't curve down and has mercury written in white over top of them with 50 in red right after.<br />thanks<br />Eric

That a nice boat. I can't see a 50 pushing it very fast though, my 50 is on a 16 foot tinny that I can pick up myself when theres no motor on it. It looks like you got it moving pretty fast from that pic though. What brand of boat is it? I like the layout. I just put that same seadog switch/fuse panel in my boat too.

The boat is now sold. It was a Unicorn 4.5m and it ran at around 25 knots at WOT with the 50.<br />Unicorns were the same mould as the old Mustang 1500's and made in Melbourne Australia.
