I'm trying to get accurate info on this 500/50 so I can replace the impeller which isn't pushing out any water at all. A little history-- this motor has been on a stand in the garage for about 6 years--ran fine then. Hooked up the muffs--it still runs fine but won't pass water thru the tell-tale hole--getting mildly warmed water thru the prop so I believe the ports are clear. So I try to drop the LU and the drive shaft splines seem to be hung up in the power head--there's always somethin.' I'm currently trying to ease the two apart without using too much violence.
I would appreciate some help too identifying the year of this motor.

I can't get the maxrules site to open. I belive it's too modern for the oldmercs site cuz it doesn't show there. The marinshopen site shows the last ser# as 647xxxx in 1983 which smells a little fishy. I don't believe it's made in Canada cuz the hardware is not metric.
