just changed water pump and wonder if i put gear shaft back where it needs to be... when i start it the prop turns even when in neut. thanks for any help
Sounds like it changed gears when you took it off. You need to take it off and make sure the shifter is in the right gear, and put it back on again. I like to have it in forward when I put it together, so I can rotate the prop and get the shaft to line up. Of course, having a buddy to turn the flywheel is easier, except for the price of the beer.
