Merc 7.5 outboard....need part help

Hi all. I just bought a sailboat with a merc 7.5 outboard ready to rock (well almost). On the shaft I can make out the following numbers. -882820- Can someone tell me what year/model of motor I have from this number. <br /><br />Google doesnt like the number 882820, so I figure I'd ask the experts.<br /><br />Thanks!<br /><br />almosttohavana

That number is missing a dijit for a 7.5 engine. the last serail number group starts with 66///// so you must be missing the first number
