Merc 850XS flywheel puller

Anyone know where to buy a flywheel puller for a 1976 Merc 850 at a resonable price?

First time I needed one I rented from my local Mercury dealer.

Second time I found one on ebay for around $18 I think. It also included a lifting eye which is also a useful thing to have. If you search ebay under outboard motor parts and accessories for a flywheel puller you'll find a couple of guys selling them.

You should be able to use a harmonic balancer puller for that flywheel. Those are found at most automotive parts stores. Also, since they have the "W" machining on the crank end, they do not have too much taper and are easier to pull. Put a few drops of penetrating oil on the crank, before attaching the puller, and give the puller a rap after you tighten it.
