i had some frayed wires coming out of the trigger in the distributor so i ordered a new one and pulled the distributor and replaced it with the new cdi unit and reinstalled it all back together it started and ran alright but it smoked a bit not sure if this was from being first start of the year or from timing issue or something but the big problem is i reinstalled the plate with the spark advance and idle and throttle stops and the distributor hits them when trying to go full throttle. my thinking was if i installed everything how it was i shouldnt have to adjust those especiall so drastically i mean i cant get much more than an idle and cant go into reverse at all. just wanted to know if there was something i could have messed up reassembling the distributor or what i just cant think of what it could be.
