I have an older merc 9.8. i was on the water the other day and everything was working fine until i looked back and there was not any water coming out of the pee hole. just a little smoke. i thought it may have been clogged up so with the engine off and pulled the hose off and blew into it and air was coming out of the foot. so it wasn't clogged up. i started it back up and it worked fine. after running at full throttle for a few minutes, i looked back and it wasn't pumping any water again, i stopped and restarted the engine and it worked fine. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be??? It seems to only do this after running wide open for a few minutes. Thanks so much for your help.
