hey guys, so i have a 1970 mercury 110.... and ive been pullin my dam hair out trying to get this thing tuned up for fishing and now im having electrical problems with it.... i looked under the flywheel at night and seen sparks from the stator to flywheel and i also seen sparkes from the compartment where 2 wires were coming out of (i believe where the points are located in) AND i also se sparkes jumping from the hex part of the spark plug up to the spark plug boot... like its glows when it runs (from the sparks) i have an ignition type 2 thunderbolt ignition phase maker with points.... anybody know what the hell is going on here.... when i rev it up then bring it back down to idle quickly it stalls, but if i do it sloly it will idle for a while then eventually stall.... are my coils shot? any input would be great i have no idea whats up with this thing :S
