Merc 9.9, 2 stroke - Need charging kit

My ~1997 9.9 kicker came without a charging circuit. I'm now finding since I run the kicker about 10X as much as the main that I should add whatever stuff is needed to have it charge my main batteries. The engine runs beautifully and is very light, I want to keep this one going for years.

What do I need to buy and how hard is it to install? What sort of output should I expect from this kit?

Thanks in advance for all guidance.

you will need a new stator assembly. you may find them on ebay and craigslist cheap once in a while. I believe there were two versions, a low output for just running lights and a higher output for charging.

OK, sounds good...any more input on the Merc part (or kit) number? I'd be interested in finding out how hard this thing is to install. It might be a good winter project for me.

Thx
