Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />My source is kinda vague on those for some reason. It shows anywhere from 1979 to 1981. I'd guess a 1980. But it's not a 9.9. Those are the next generation. Yours is a 9.8 and very much the same motor it originally was back in the very late 1950s when it first came out. Back then they were called 110s. Your was made right there in Canada. There are still millions of those out there faithfully running for their captains. I had a 7.5 Hp which is a de-tuned version of yours. It was a sailboat kicker. Never failed to start. Kinda loud at full throttle. There were originally two props available. A 7p 3-blade power prop and a 9p 2-blade speed prop. I see there are many more choices offered now.<br /><br />If there's an A in front of all those numbers, throw what I typed above away. That would make it a 1987 model 9.9.
