Sorry, I don't have the engine no to hand, will post it later. Loaned this motor out, had been sitting for a while, but started right up in barrel. Apparently steering pivot was seized (wouldn't turn left or right) and its now come back with a crack in the casing where the lower end of pivot rod goes in. The affected casing looks like it comes off in one piece, complete with all the tilt, tiller, and transom mounting brackets, by removing four caps and circlips (2 top, 2 bottom), then pulling out 4 plugs (for want of a better word) made of rubber and bakelite type material. I got the 2 lower ones out no probs, and the casing is now free at bottom, but I think I'm gonna destroy the top plugs to get them out. Question is:- what are these 'plug' things called, so I can get new ones? Once I get the casing off, I can free off the pivot, and weld the crack - looks straightforward - but I don't have a clue what these 'plug' things are called.

Anybody know?

Bill
