Merc Ceramic Coated Risers and Manifolds

Bought new risers and manifolds for my 350 engine from Mercruiser. They are ceramic coated.

I know I should file off the top coat of paint at the gasket surfaces, but should I leave the ceramic coating on the gasket surface areas too? Or sure I go down to bare metal at all gasket surfaces?

I don't think you want to file the ceramic off. Just put them together.

I think there may be a Merc SB addressing that issue....
