merc control replacement

hello everyone. i have a 1971 gulfstream with a merc single lever control for the throttle and shift. well it seems that the control box has seen better days, i dont think you can get these anymore. does anyone know of any replacement that would take on the existing cables. i would like to just attach the cables and go, but i dont think i will get that lucky. some one help,

you can and will get that lucky!<br /><br />theres a place that sells thses things complete and they also sell parts. ive purchased them from there MANY times......<br /><br /><br />....ebay

i got luck on ebay and found a new/old stock controller with wiring harness, brand new. $150.00. i have no idea how the 1350 was running when i opened the old controller, all wires were bare, and corroded.
