Merc Cruiser 255 wiring hub help

Well, i am repowering my boat with afew 255hp merc 350ci' the only problem is the wiring is different, on my old engines all the wires off the engine go to a bus, that is color coded, but on these all i have is a big plug, its got numbers on it though, and what i need is a reference to which numbers are which things, then i should be able to figure the rest out.

if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated,

Ayuh,...

Go back to where you got the motor,+ ask them for the other 1/2 of the cannon plug....
Then wire it to your buss....

i do have the other end, but its just cut wires.

its a 1974 engine, the electronics have all been replaced over time.

Here's a link to the OEM service manual. You will find all the wiring diagrams in section 3F. The file is just over 1 GB, (Not MB) in size and may take a long time to open. Best to just right click the link and "Save As" to your computer.

thanks for the manual.

today i went out and did it by hand, tested the continuity to all the plugs, then compared where they go to the engine in the boat and what goes where from its hub, and have pretty much peiced it all together!
