Re: Merc Enertia

My holes are completely plugged, Mark....with the HP I have, I don't need the vents on this prop.
And with the Mobsters, my bow doesn't raise but about an inch.
I still have about 20 props to run, so it may be awhile before I can post Data as some are in the same pitch range that I'm waiting on...This stuff takes a while trying to put together 40+ props and run the same pitch on the same day.......

That almost sounds like work... especially when you have to compile data!

Re: Merc Enertia

It IS work...but atleast it's on the water.
Each prop is also run to the highest position it will stay hooked up...so I raise and lower jackplate quite a bit with each prop..It all ads time....

Thanks Crownie. The outboard version Kenny showed seems larger than that since the diameter of the hub is 4 1/2 or so and I'm scaling off that. Maybe they know that and have smaller holes for I/O's.

Actually - the prop is shipped with the holes plugged. You can get a kit with three diffeerent sizes of holes to use to fine tune it.

I drilled out my plugs to 9/32" becuse I knew that would be good starting point for my I/O.

Re: Merc Enertia

That's interesting. How do they keep the plugs in?

Mercury's PVS (Performance Ventilation System) uses small plugs that can be removed from the prop to help out in holeshot. They make 4 different plugs. I think they are, completely shut, 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 inch holes. You should be able to drill them out because they are made of plastic. They can be popped out using a flat head screw driver. Simply pry them out or they can be pushed in and will come out of the hub. They have small "latches" that will hook onto the inside of the hub from the outside which has a lip to keep them from going all the way through into the hub.

Take a look... btw, they are cheaper than that. Go to a Mercury dealer. Like $.90 each.
