Afternoon all,

Being my family is growing and our love of boating has also grown over the past few years, we are looking to upgrade from the "Fling" in the near future.

Yea yea, the Fling is some one-off and not many like it, but it was our first boat and was a great experience to "get us into boating".

Plus the Jet pump has gotten us up into some remote locations on the river! :)

Co-worker has a '91 Bayliner Capri with an outboard Force Merc 90 and is the 2nd owner.

He told me his kids are grown and have moved out and he rarely uses the boat.

It looks to be in good condition and he said we can go for a river run if I would like to...(test ride)...

Just curious (as I have gotten great help here on the forums) if there is any red flags I should look for (hull and engine)...

Maybe the hull talk is better suited for a different section in the forum?

I am kind of torn between a Sea Ray 210 and Bayliner Capri 180, but I think my next boat will def. be open bow.

Any advice helps and I really appreciate it!

Its a '91 bayliner....red flag on rotten wood just from its build date

The searay was a better built boat when new. However condition is key

They were making the L-drive then. Just make sure it's not an L-drive.
Get someone to do a survey/check.
Compression and check for water in the drive?

I use a plastic hammer or a piece of hardwood and tap on the transom.

Thanks for the replies fellas...

It is an outboard 90, I have read about the L drive, but have yet to see what one looks like???

Compression and water in the drive, check!

There was a sharp SeaRay on my local craigslist, I haven't seen one like it before...it was all fiberglass // open bow?

Looked pretty cool

Thanks again
