Merc fuel flow direc

I have a 260 HP Merc I want to bench test motor before I bring to the Marinia. Does the flow go through the filter before the fuel pump or after.My boat is at the marina 100m I am not sure if the fuel pump first then filter or the fuel filter first. The fuel filter is a spin on filter /water sep. Thanks again

Fuel goes from the fuel pump to the filter, then to the carb.
