I have a 1987 Citation 190XLS, 4.3L Merc, AlphaOne outdrive. I took it out for the 4th of July and everything ran great. It sat until tonight (8/5). I put it in and everything was fine, I came back to the dock, picked up my passengers and went up the river. While I was cruising, the motor started to surge so I turned around and headed back to the dock. I took off one more time, WOT and began surging again, so I trailered it. Any suggestions? This problem seemed to come from nowhere.. Thanks in advance...

A good place to start checking is the fuel system.
Sounds like a possibility of water. Check the fuel filter, dump the contents in a clear container and see if you have water.
Could also need a tuneup. When was the last full tuneup???

Thats what I was thinking. Where is the fuel pump amd filter located? Is it easily accessible? It had a full tune up after I took it out for the winter.

You're right. I do need to buy a manual.

I took out the filter and drained it, it had a little water in it. I bought some Sea Brite Water Absorber and put in it. I am getting ready to hit the water and run some gas out and see what happens.
