74 Larson trihull with Mercruiser 140hp I/O.<br /><br />I replaced the lower shift cable this spring. I can shift just fine sitting in the driveway. However when out on the water after pulling a tube (or otherwise going fast) it's very difficult to shift to neutral or reverse. Hard to move the shifter past a certain point (probably when it's just coming out of gear is my guess). I'll pull smoothly on the lever, bind up, pull harder and then end up in reverse. Any ideas on why this could be happening?<br /><br />Also after flipping into reverse I'll often find the outdrive has moved way up til the prop is almost out of the water.
