Merc @ Idle Stalls

Morning Everyone...
I have a '94 Merc Alpha One I/O. Engine will not idle, sputters and stalls out. Have to have throttle all the way open to start, and it take a few cranks. When running, it seems to lack power.
I should note, that first time out for the season (after winterization which included stabil), engine started right up no problems then after running for about 20 minutes backed off throttle and went into idle and stall. Ever since then I've had these problems.
I tried carb cleaner and gass additive thinking maybe it just needed a little cleaning.
Anyone have any ideas?? Would re-building carb be next in order?

You winterized it, but did you Summerize it???? Sounds like you are in need of a tuneup.

The only thing I haven't done on this list is check and replace if necessary the spark plugs. I would have thought that since it started out fine right out of winter, then the plugs would be good, no? I had the boat running for probably a total of 30 minutes on muffs initially without any problem. But thanks for the reply and I'll pull and check those plugs tonight.

ya need to do more than that. at least if ya want yer boat to run proper.... go thru the list ya've been put onto. one by one. after that. then yer boat will be much happier.... so will you too....
