Im looking for dimensions of the distributor bearings. I have a 77 1150. I believe a 15x28x7mm will work. I’d like to get it ordered before taking apart the unit... otherwise I’d take calipers to it and measure... anyone know the size or have one around you can measure? $50 for a $5-10 bearing is a bit steep... also anyone know if the same bearing size would fit top and bottom?

Did you find the part number for the upper bearing?

Metric might only be close, mine were Imperial.

I have a 1975 "850" with distributor. Had to replace bearings. 6002-2RS (15mm x 32mm x 9mm) and R8-2RS (.500 x 1.125 x .512) Both are sealed bearings. I know the only difference in the 4 and 6 cylinder distributor is the disk/window, at least for the 1975 models. SKF brand available on Ebay for under $10 each.

I did find the SKF 6002 on Ebay and hadn't found the 2nd bearing.

I started looking at SKF because many of the Ebay OEM ads showed an SKF box with a Mercury or Quicksilver part number sticker over the SKF number. And I know Merc/QS didn't make the bearings.

Thanks for the SKF numbers, Starflite.

I just checked another site for part numbers and your 30-20066 & 30-26379 show up as the same numbers as my 850.

It looks like the 15x32 would fit the bottom but the top it looks like the external diameter of the tube is about 32mm. So that couldn’t fit into it... hmmmm

Here is the receipt for 850 bearings. The larger one R8-2RS, I believe is the Rotor side bearing. If/when you tear it apart, be VERY careful with the rotor/shaft. They are one piece and VERY expensive to replace.

I got a parts distributor and replaced the trigger on mine and the plastic cracked trying to put it together, had 2, it works perfectly but the bearing I had weren’t the best. So I’d like to change them. Too stubborn to spend $50 each. Lesson learned on how to reassemble. Great design merc, needs some force to press in, make it plastic on the end!
