Merc Model I prop shaft end play

Rebuilding my outdrive...but have a question?<br /><br />What sets the end play on the prop shaft? I have both a Clymer and Mercruiser shop manual. Neither seems to give a clear description. Help?<br /><br />Thanks!<br /><br />John

It all takes place down in there with the fwd/ rev gears..... Surprisingly, If you're wondering about the Push/ Pull play in the propshaft.... It Should be the 1/16th, 1/8th" that you have now....<br /><br />No, you Didn't Screw-Up....<br /><br />Good Luck...
