Hiya, Have a 25hp Merc, I lost spark on both cylinders.
I tried the simple stuff, disconnecting the kill switches and cranking with a spark tester, still nothing.
I think we checked the resistance on the coils at the end of last year when this problem began and they checked within spec. Plus I find it hard to believe to loose both at the same time.
I believe the next step is to check the trigger. My understanding is I will need a DVA because of the short pulse width. I don't have one. I could build one... But I do have access to a O Scope. That should be more accurate than a DVA if mine will read within the voltages supplied, I may have to use a 10x probe...
Can someone direct me where I need to check for voltage, and what voltages I should be looking for so I don't toast my scope. My buddy has the service tech manual, but he's outta town for a week, I'd like to get going on this in the mean time.
Thanks,
Bill
