Merc Outboard 4 stroke 4 horse power, 1F04201FK, wont start,
so I picked up this motor seems low hours and very good shape overall, I filled onboard tank, pulled lines and confirmed fuel all the way to carb, gave it a quick shot starter fluid, set choke, nothing, when I pull the start cord, turns over fine, sounds as though the valves are opening and closing, the feel of compression, so open the choke after a couple pulls of rope, and pulled and shot again with starter fluid, no pop at all, now each time I pull the cord, the engine oil light flashes, so im not sure if its disabling the coil thinking low oil or, if this is normal, all wires are new and clean no visible sign of rot anywhere, very clean under the hood, motor appears to have no hours on it at all.
any thoughts would be appreciated.
