Merc prop with torq flo 2 won't fit on Evinrude 60, Please help!

Hello all, I recently received my Mercury Spitfire prop and the hub kit with it for my lower unit on a 1991 Evinrude 60 hp. With it installed the way it is supposed to be there is not enough threads on the shaft to get the nut on far enough to get a cotter pin through. The old prop has a lip that fits inside the back part of the shaft on the lower unit. This new one has the lip but it is to big to slide into the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated in either pointing me in the right direction to get it to work or proof I need to return it for a different prop.

Measure the diameter of your gear case. The so called large gear case would be 4-1/4 inches. The small would be about 3-1/2 inches.

You apparently got the wrong prop if it won't fit into the gear case.

Yeah after some more research it is for a 40-60 horse bigfoot which if I understand correctly is an oversized lower on the Mercs. I got a different one and am sending this one back, was really looking forward to trying out that Spitfire, Oh well.
