I just replaced the 3000 with a 4000. The question I have for other owners is, on the backside of the bezel. Do the purple wires from the Run/Off switch come off the top or bottom of the switch? My 3000 come from bottom. 4000 come from top. I think they installed the switch upside down as it work opposite what it is supposed to. Feel like I will have to pull the front part of the switch off and flip it over for it to work.

Measure the continuity of the switch action. The 4000 comes in a few styles and has 2 different switches. One for outboard (2 cycle closes when activated) and one for I/O (opens when activated)

Do the striped wires need to be connected? Purple from controller and Black in the boat. This is the controller they put on all trackers.

Yes, that is the kill switch
Need to know if you have a 2 cycle or 4 cycle motor. The 2 cycle grounds the magneto to kill the motor, the 4 disconnects power

Note the kill switch for this 2 cycle setup. Its connected to Magneto and to ground

2 cycle. Sorry I knew they needed to be connected. Was wondering if it made a difference whether striped should be connected.
