Getting ready to install exhaust water shutter. One side is flat smooth, the other side has some ridges of a sort. The water shutter fits in the old bracket ok with smooth side down, but when installed it seems to stay open about an inch on both sides. Is this normal when installing a new one. I figured it would be more sealed against the pipe on both sides when installed. Does the incoming water push it closed if it surges back up the exhaust "y" pipe?
