Have just gotten back to working on my 1986 90 hp Mercury outboard motor.
Not started for 3 years. Have good, equal compression on all 6 cylinders.
Got spark on 4 plugs, can't get at the other two.Gas dripping out of 3 rebuilt carbs.
If it's got compression, spark and gas, and it's cranking, why don't it go ???
I didn't hook the gas up this time but the gas was dripping from the carb throats, i doubt it is 3 stuck floats. You don't think i could have put a gasket in upside down ? But If the gas is in the bowl, the only ways out that i know is the needle valve or out the front.
I forgot to pull a plug or two to see if they were wet, have to do that before taking the carbs back off tomorrow. Also no tilt, just clicks at solenoid. Took blue wire off solenoid and jumped to battery, tapped on tilt motor to free up possible stuck brushes, nothing. Thought to ask you guys before screwing something up !
