Hey all. so, i got my ignition issue figured out. put on a ballast resistor and correct coil and it fired right up and idled but it won't free rev beyond 3500 rpm. wide open it plateau's at around 3500. if you back off to bout 1/2 throttle, it will rev up to bout 5,000. this is in the driveway with muffs on. i know it prolly ain't good for it. thinking it's a fuel issue. I will be picking up a new fuel/ water seperator after work and putting it on. i have not done a fuel flow test yet.will also be checking the timing.

1966.... I would check the distributor's weight's and springs to make sure they are free and moving as they should, lots of rust and funk can happen in 50 years. Open the distributor, remove the points plate and see what lies beneath....
