Anyone know this off hand? I either have the wrong manuals or it's obscure.

22ft./lbs, without a year or serial number thats just from the manual 13

If your engine is in the 83 stingray, manual #3 calls for 15 ft. lbs.

what if i do 20 ft lbs because thats as low as my wrench will go...

that's an excuse to buy a new torque wrench man....;)

i had three till my larger one broke (piece of crum). so i need to replace that one, + if i had some extra dollars, i'd sure like to have a dial indicator type, 0-150 in. lb. wrench.. big dollars... point is, ya gotta have a lot of torque wrenches..... ;)

too tight is too tight. though i'm sure many don't use a torque wrench and just strong arm them in. maybe they're the ones that break off plugs in the head, i don't know. i use a torque wrench + pull plugs at least twice a year....

fwiw, 15 ft. lbs is the number i looked up for yer rig too. also the same as my 75 L6...

Ayuh,... I donno the # off hand, but I tighten 'em that way,...

Off Hand,.. ei: my calibrated Elbow....;)

Which I didn't know I had, til achris told me....
