I recently purchased a boat that has a Mercruiser 140. I believe it is a 1987 Sun Runner. It has a hard time starting, and idles really rough. Once I have it in gear and accellerating, things seem to be fine. Here are my questions:
1. Is there a pdf/online repair manual for this motor? (S/N below) If not, can someone reccomend a good one to purchase?
2. I'm thinking the first thing I should do is rebuild the carb. The previous owner hadn't ran the boat for over a year, though he did say he had stabil in the fuel & had it winterized. Is this a good first step? Any reccomendations on where to buy the rebuild kit? Local it is ~$90, not sure if it includes floats (pretty expensive to not include them!).
3. Any hints/tips for this motor?
Motor S/N: 6844079, tag on the carb is 1389-8490
