I have a 140 Mercruiser (1978) that has just been installed (complete tear down and re-install) but when I run the motor on the muffs (hasn't seen the water yet) I noticed water coming out from beside the water intake hose on the inside of the transom? I can't figure out what might be causing it or where the malfunction would be.

I did however change my thermostat and check the incoming water from the hose while running, all seems ok, except for the water coming in from beside the water intake. I didn't think there was anything there to release water?

Any ideas

again all your help is very much appreciated as this forum has helped me out many times in the past.

Cheers
