I have a proven bad fuel pump after testing. it is on a 165 inline 6cyl. the old pump has a flange id of 6587 carter pump. after of googling, i can find that the sierra 18-7278 is a match for it, but my serial number is before there range for this. has anyone else ran across this, and will this pump work as a replacement? thanks
