I have a 1974 mercruiser 165, motor SN unknown, but the OD SN is #378206, my boat doesn't appear to have come with a trim gauge, I dont like running back n forth, is it possible to add one in the existing sensors or buy some aftermarket stuff? Thanks.

I believe this is what your trim gauge sender looks like.
The two wires would go to the gauge.

The manual shows two types of gauge senders and does show the current type. If your gimbal pins have the allen socket fitting so the sender can be inserted, you would just need to drill the 2 holes, run the wire, and install the gauge

Otherwise tpenfield just got a patent on a powered new design
