Hello all, I am a new boat owner I purchased a 1975 sea ray srv 195 with the inline 6 165hp engine. when we took it out and test drove the boat everthing worked fine and several times there after with no problems. last weekend we took it out to go swimming and on a short run i noticed the engine was getting hot. After i brought it home i checked the cooling system. everything on the motor looks fine i pulled the hose off to the manifold and started the boat with the muff's on and imediatly noticed no water coming through so i shut it down. I suspect the impellor is shot in the lower end. is there a write up on how to do this here on the site?

Yes, you can find the shop manual for the drive in the sticky post at the top of the forum. Look in the Mercruiser shop manuals list for your drive. ps. the engine manual is there too.

I have the same engine in my 74 invader and am having overheating issues as well. It gets hot when im at idle in a body of water but when I put it in drive and get on the throttle the engine cools off. Once I stop and idle again the temp gauge will again go to the red. Is this a sign my Impeller is bad?

Hi Invader,

You need to start your own thread, and not hi-jack someone elses....
