Curious, what influenced you to want the 3.0 over the 4.3?

It seemed to me that I just didn't need the extra hp... It will be mostly just my wife and myself on this boat and we don't do watersports. The top end with the 3.0 MPI on this boat is around 47mph, and with the 4.3 it is pushing 60mph. I know I'm in the minority as far as top end speed ; but 47mph on the water is fast enough for me. Also less up-front cost, less fuel cost, etc...

I would go with tried and proven tech. carb. version for me no questions.
Add the cat to the system and it is a no brainer. That cat is not going to last for ever and is going to cost $ to replace.
