Good Evening,

I have a 2003 24 ft godfrey pontoon that has a 3.0 mercruiser with an alpha one gen 2 drive. Best speed I can get is 16.5 mph, at wot which is 3800. If my info is correct i believe that im 800-1000 rpm low of where i should be. It has a 13 pitch, 3 blade aluminum prop on it, I kind of thought with that low of pitch it would be hitting wot no problem. I changed plugs, wires, distributor, thermostat.

Does anyone have any ideas on what else I should check ? I read something about an anti siphon valve that can cause issues ? Coil ? Do these things have a fuel filter somewhere ?

I really appreciate any and all help

one other thing id like to mention, i read somewhere that if there tis fuel in the clear tube from the carb you have a bad fuel pump, is this true ? Im alittle surprised it ran as well as it did if the pumps bad, for three days....But there is fuel in that line...

Yes, if you have fuel in the clear line , you need to replace your fuel pump. They are about $50

After replacing your pump, change oil and check compression

As stated, if there is fuel in that line, the pump is bad. On a car that line doesn’t exist, a car will dump fuel on the ground or into the oil. On a boat if it did that it would put fuel in the bilge and cause an explosion And fuel in your oil. Be sure to replace with a marine fuel pump.
