Mercruiser 3.0 Please Help!

I picked up a 18' bowrider for a fishing boat prodject. The block and head is cracked and I cannot find a used complete assembly or even a rebuildable core. The engine is a mercruiser 3.0, the boat is a 1989 Chaparral.<br />Looking in Michigan. Any help is very much apprectated.

Before you go looking for an engine, what condition is the drive in? How about the manifolds and risers? How about the transom (Dry Rot????) What else doesn't work.

Once you've evaluated the rest of the boat like Don says,+ If you still are looking for an engine,...........<br /><br />I've got this Running take-out motor sitting in my garage.......<br />It's a Complete,.. Plug & Play engine,.....<br />

<br />The compression #s are posted on the valve cover....<br /><br />Here's a shot of the other side,......<br />

The transom and stringers seem to be in great shape. Drilled some test holes and found good wood.<br />Bondo, I'm interested in your engine. Please let me know what year it is and how much $.<br />THANKS.
