HI guys. I am extrememly frustrated right now. I have a remanufactured short block Mercruiser 3.0 and I am having a hard time installing the rear crankshaft seal retainer. it has these tabs in it that the new crank bearing will not go past. I don't want to damage this thing and I was just wondering if any one new if there was a diiferent retainer out there. This one has guide tabs and a space for half mooned dowl pin. Which was not present when I took it off the old motor. I am alittle confused on the serial numbers as well. By the distibutor, it says M0925IRA, and towards the starter it's stamped 14097080-261-90. I have no clue and I am sooo distraught right now. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
