Can this be done.My friend has a 3.0 Mercruiser that has a bad block and we found a omc 3.0 in good condition. The block and internals should be the same. So if we switch all external components will this work. I know the bellhousings are different but we can switch them. What else will need to be done. Thanks Brian

if crossing the 1990 dateline between motors, you might need coupler/flywheel, but parts are available going your way

If we take all of the parts off the mercruiser and install them on the omc would the flywheel work or is it something to do with the pattern in the crank not allowing the flywheel to bolt on. Just curious if I need to have that flywheel on hand when we start so in case we need it we don't get stuck waiting for it.

I know the boat is a 94 Ebbtide. The omc motor came out of a sunbird not sure of the year and the shop that had the boat and motor had already gotten rid of the boat. Brian
