Hi everyone- I've just purchased my first power boat, powered by the Mercruiser 3.0lx motor. The motor turns over, but does not fire up currently. I am working on diagnosing the issue and have a question about the operation of the throttle.
When the engine is off (before it is started) should advancing the throttle "pump" gas into the carb? In other words, if I look into the carb with the spark arrestor off, should I see gas being shot in when advancing the throttle?
I ask because when I advance the throttle multiple times, I see no gas entering the carb, and I am trying to determine if this is an issue.
Thanks for your help
