Hi Guys,

I am looking to convert a 2014 MerCruiser 383 Sterndrive engine to a down angle inboard setup. I currently have a 5.7 MPI in my boat so I would swap over my gearbox onto the 383.

Electronically, what needs to be done to make such a conversion?

The serial number of the 383 is 1G405281

Thanks,

Pat

Not a thing, you need a inboard bell housing to accept a rear entry starter, flex plate for the trans and a inboard trans, shaft logs, shaft strut ,shaft and prop and a rudder and move the motor forward about 10 feet with new front motor mounts

The way I read it was that he had a boat with 5.7l MPI inboard motor and 383 sterndrive motor he wants to put in its place.

Dont know how he`s trying to convert. Dont know is its a running motor , a long block, what intake system. Is it even injected or carb`d.
