What's the serial number of your engine?

use a piece of string around the belt drive and then go to the auto parts store and ask them to see the belts. U can also use the belt measure they have in the store usually in the back.

You should be able to have the auto parts store match up the old belt to a new one, if there is enought left of the old one. Mercruiser has it's own set of belt numbers, to induce you to buy from them. They charge a premium, but you get a little better belt.

I ended up buying a set of Mercruiser belts and taking them to the auto parts store to have them match them. I then noted the numbers of the auto belts for the future and bought a set of them as backup. Occasionally you can break a belt while at sea. They are easy to change.

Must be the counter help because I've never had a prob at any parts store...assuming they stock a good supply, and a lot of smaller coastal stores don't. 'nutcase
