Always a gem hidden somewhere.
With that bit of information, I'm going to postulate that something is loose. I'd be looking at balancer bolt, crank pulley screws, anything else that was loosened in the process of replacing the balancer.

Ah. Ok. Glad you have suggested this Chris. I thought I had mentioned this originally. Looks like I didn’t. I have literally only heard it run once or twice before and once or twice after. But I’m certain I would have noticed this noise previously, if it was there. Especially when we serviced it just before.
