I have been trying to locate a part for my Mercruiser 4.3 TBI with serial number 0M092184 and it is part number 861197A2. Mercury have this part as no longer available, I just spend a lot of money installing a long block on my boat and now can not use it because of this part. This is an adapter between the TBI and the intake manifold, it has all the brackets where the accelerator linkage connects. One small piece where a bolt attach to broke and the complete linkage is now loose. Does any body now where to get a used part to replace it? or somebody knows what needs to be done or replace to fix the problem?

Without knowing what's broke or where, it's really tough to give you an idea of how to fix it.

I'm attaching a couple of pictures. The part that broke is where the accelerator linkage connects to this part on the front. 861197A2.jpg861197A2 -2.jpg

I would think if you took your adapter and the piece that broke off to a good weld shop, they could fix that for you easily.
Brass bolt in the threads so the weld don't stick, Vee'd out a bit, welded back on. Extra weld to reinforce and you should be better than new.

Ayuh,... Or weld a big blob on the broken spot, grind it to shape, 'n then drill, 'n tap it....

With aluminum, or steel, you can weld over yer welds, buildin' metal that wasn't there....
