Ok,... Had to go to Work today,...

The inner cable is pulled outa the outer casin', 'n the little white piece of plastic is unscrewed from the outer casin',...
The outer casin' is fed through to where it goes, 'n screwed into the gimbel housin',...
Then the little white piece of plastic is screwed back into the outer casin',...
After that, the inner cable is fed through the outer casin', 'n ya continue on from there,...

There's 2 bell housin' gaskets 'cause they're for a couple of drives, yer only gonna use 1 of 'em,...
Toss the other 1,...

The Manuals are available up in the Adults Only section at the top of this forum,..
Go up there, 'n click on the Mercruiser Info link within,...

Hey bond-o

Job is complete, cables adjusted per the manual. One question:

With everything adjusted, the cutout switch roller wheel is not 100% centered in the groove on the shift plate, it's slightly off almost like the shift plate is a tad too high up. When I shift into reverse WOT, I check the wheel and it's 100% centered in the groove. In neutral or WOT forward, it's in that slightly "off" position. Thoughts? Will this be ok in normal "in-water" operation? I tried adjusting the upper cable barrel per what the manual said by spinning the barrel in the opposite direction away from the plastic slide and it didn't change anything.

With both cables off the shift plate is the roller centred?

Well, I am not sure at this point. I took her out on her maiden voyage yesterday after work and it shifts in all directions flawlessly including back to neutral. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!
